The Asklepeion is the most important archeological site of the island. It is a place of unique value and a MUST for the visitor of Kos. Dedicated to Asclepius, the god of healing, was established as one of the most famous therapeutic centers in ancient Greece.
It impresses the visitor with its size, imposingness and the wonderful view.
Built on a small hill, near the city of Kos and surrounded by the sacred grove, it exudes positive energy in every part of it.
But all the splendor of the material monuments, is overshadowed by the intangible treasure left to us by Hippocrates. Born and raised in the small island, he bequeathed to us almost 2,500 ago, his knowledge, which is the basis of modern medicine.
After the end of the visit to the Asklepeion we start our walking route from Platanos square. Looking around, one can understand at a glance, the history of this place.
